European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) is the leading organisation of zoos and aquariums in Europe and the Middle East. Formed in 1992, EAZA’s mission is to facilitate cooperation within the European zoo and aquarium community towards the goals of education, research and conservation.They believe that zoos and aquaria have a strong role to play in protecting nature and wildlife both at our institutions and out in the field.

When EAZA began considering relocating their office and legal seat, they contracted us to undertake a feasibility study to assist the decision-making process. Amongst other factors, this feasibility study provided a comprehensive overview of the process in terms of cost and timeline of setting up under Belgian law. We considered structural, employment and insurance costs and assessed the soft aspects of the new set-up and transition. This included looking at networking opportunities with other organisations, advocacy and research opportunities and organisational impact after relocation.
