World Association of Zoos and Aquariums

The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) is the unifying organisation for the world zoo and aquarium community. Their more than 300 members are leading zoos, aquariums, associations, affiliate organisations and corporate partners from around the world. The goal of the WAZA is to guide, encourage and support the zoos, aquariums and like-minded organisations of the world in animal care and welfare, environmental education and global conservation.

WAZA is considering a variety of options with respect to the re-location of their offices and legal seat. Currently the organisation is based in Switzerland, with an office in the IUCN Conservation Centre in Gland. They have contracted ODS to conduct a feasibility study which considers options in other European cities. Our mandate is to gather information and narrow the scope;  research alternatives and elaborate on scenarios.
